Grasping at straws........

Implosion(v)-In golf, it is the act on Skippy's part of shooting a 43 on the front nine, only to turn around and shoot a 54 on the back.

It is also the act of the White House Press Secretary pulling this analogy out of his ass.............

Yea , that's rich, comparing those two nations.

Korea and Iraq are nothing alike except for the fact that both nations have populations that a large group of frothing xenophobes among them.

First, the Korean War ended in a stalemate-an Armistice that has been in effect for over 60 years. It was a stalemate with an external threat, not one from within. Second, South Koreans where not actively attacking US Soldiers again and again( except in taxicabs and at isolated subway stations). Third, US Soldiers were there to deter against outside attack. From one particular nation.

So are we now saying that US soldiers are there to deter against.......(fill in the blank). Once again America is supposed to pick up the burdens of empire with none of the perks.

There are a few other things worth noting. A big one is that the Koreans are actually dedicated to improving their nation and not fractured into several major sub groups all of whom hate one another. They also don't have a useless religion stuck around their necks like their Arab brethren have around their necks.

Korea actually built its economy and took over 30 years to become a functioning democracy.

Not to mention that it directly contradicts what we said 4 years ago, 3 years ago, 2 years ago, even last year. But hey, we've changed our story so many other times before, why not now.

Oh and by the way, it makes a huge propaganda point for Al Quaeda which said we were seeking to occupy the Middle East permanently. Not to mention poll after poll shows we are not welcome by the majority of Iraqi civilians, and saying that we're going to stay for fifty years -- whether they like it or not -- just serves to create enemies at a faster clip.

50 years of General Order #1? Lets just say no now.
